IGURUSI DISPENSARY
LAST INFORMATION
TO the dawn of the year 2000,while needs would ask an expansion
of our dispensary,we have to close it this clinic for economic reasons. The first idea has
been to put this building at the disposal of persons without family.
The reaction to this closing down has provoked some swirl in the population that unworthy
of this fermeture.The closing down of this clinic complicates the access to the health of
a great part of the population.
In date of end februar 2000,a possible helps deprived is going perhaps has reopening
the dispensary of Igurusi.......
The dispensary project started operating in early 1993 sponsored by Mr. Keneth Andrew N'dingo the propriator of Ndingo Enterprises who operates other business including transport,bureau de change,import&export,supply of food staff,milling machine.....
The dispensary is located at Igurusi Township,Utengule usangu ward,Mbeya rural District,the town ship is along the Tanzania-Zambia highway(southern corridor).Some 60 kilometers from Mbeya Town in Southern Tanzania.The town ship and heighbouring villages have un estimated population of 90.000 peoples.
Mr. K.A.N'dingo decided to set up a dispensary in Igurusi area due to among ether reasons,the following.....
To serve Igurusi area and heighbouring village who othervise had to travel long distance to Mbeya Town some 60kms away or Chimala area some 30kms away to get primary health service.
A part from the distance involved,it is expensive to therm in terms of transport fees to and fro wich is about 1000/2000 tsh per head before treatment costs.

As Igurusi is along the Highway,the dispensary serves accident victims for first aid and minor cases. Serious victims are transfeved to major hospitals. |

The clinic of N'dingo is the important of Igurusi with a capaciteyof 10 bedrooms.
A great part of invalids come from regions of Usangu.The dispensary serves a current
population of 1 million of residents.
The medecines are bought has measure need is in Mbeya or Dar Es Salaam by the
intermediairy of bus TWIGA that passes each day in Igurusi. The company of bus Twiga that
insures the salary of the workersof the clinic.
A stock of medecines had been made in 1996 by action medeor(germany),but this stock has
been employed excessively by the workers of the epoque.Ce stock had been pay by an
assistance deprives Switzerland.

The introduction of the VAT(20%) has decreased outputs of N'DINGO Enterprises.
Mr N'dingo has not had a lot sorrow has financed the new expense of the clinic;
because in more of salaries it has to contribute has the assistance with cares and to
invoices of the clinic.
1999 Bad situation
peoples no longer have money.
It lacks each day 3$ to make turn the clinic and some most the former has urgent
renovation need and improvement.
Urgent Renovation and improvement
It is urgent to remake a part of the roof of the clinic,the water returns there
everywhere.
It is necessary to install toilets in each bedroom because invalids often come for
diarrhea and fever...

To make face to need in electricity and in communication,as well as to needs of
invalids,it lacks currently 3$ per day is a bit more of 1150$ for a year of life of
dispensaire.In Tanzania that represents 1 salary years of a worker.
